Our Senior NEA Director

Rachella Dravis represents Iowa on the NEA Board of Directors.

Rachella Dravis is coordinator of the Fort Madison School District’s Teacher Leadership System and SEL K-12, working within the teacher leadership system to assist teachers across the district on improvement of instruction. Rachella is a strong voice for public education having worked with education stakeholders over the course of nearly three decades of classroom experience. She has a strong commitment to bring Iowa’s message to the table and ensuring that voice is heard.

Rachella has a 30-year teaching career where her students have empowered her to take their life challenges and experiences and advocate for them.

Rachella is a tireless advocate with involvement in association work across local and national levels. The greatest accomplishment, over the last few years, has been developing a new relationship between labor and management. Rachella holds a master’s degree in science education from the University of Missouri of St. Louis.
