Health Care

Every American has a right to comprehensive, affordable health coverage—especially the children who are our nation’s future.

Our children deserve the chance for a healthy start in life, including treatment for physical and mental illnesses that affect their ability to learn and succeed in school.

NEA advocates for students and educators covered by federal health programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP, the Children’s Health Insurance Program. We support strengthening each of these programs as well as the Affordable Care Act.
