NBC: Differentiation in Instruction (Component 2)

  • Focuses on gathering aspects of performance that are “directly observable and measurable through evidence and written commentary.”

NBC: Teaching Practice & Learning Environment (Component 3)

  • Focuses on preparing to videotape segments of learning for reflecting on practice through evidence of written commentary and video segments.

NBC: Effective & Reflective Practitioner – (Component 4)

  • Focuses on gathering information from a variety of sources; use of assessments to effectively plan; and provide evidence of your collaboration with others and of your contributions to learning communities to advance students’ learning and growth.

Currently the State of Iowa provides a state subsidy reimbursement of the Component registration fees ($475 per Component). Once National Board Certification is achieved, new NBCTs are eligible to earn $2500 annually for up to 10 years, as long as the 5-year Maintenance of Certificate requirement is accomplished.

This class is available for License Renewal or Graduate credit or Audit.
