Date: July 19 – August 15, 2020
Course #: EDMA 288:630
Instructor: Cindy Blinkinsop
In this 1 credit hour course, we will examine qualitative data and quantitative statistical data to explore the needs of the under-served in your school and/or district. Data mining will include geographic (your city), demographic (the people who live in your community), businesses and organizations, as well as possible grants and foundations. This information gathering is the first step in creating a mutually beneficial relationship with community partners.
The course culminates into two databases and an action plan to propose to your peers or administration. No matter what your role is in your school or district, you will come away with a plethora of data, possible community partnerships, and grants or foundations that will help you make your action plan a reality for the students and families that you serve.
No book is required.
This class is available for License Renewal, Graduate, Paraeducator or Audit credit.
