How might we engage in our own growth relative to equity and culturally responsive teaching and learning so that we can lead and support others in doing the same?

Part 1: Building Capacity to Lead for Equity 2021

Join us to acquire and develop strategies and skills to engage in conversations that invite your colleagues to take steps on a shared journey toward equity agency and cultural proficiency. Our scenario and practice-based approach will take you through iterative cycles of learning, practice, application, reflection, and feedback. Participants will have an opportunity to build upon their intercultural competence based on an Intercultural Development Inventory  (IDI) assessment. This course will repeat the key content from last fall; however, scenarios will differ, so previous participants are welcome to register again and are eligible for credit. Additionally, the facilitators will invite feedback and input following each session and adapt the course content to meet the needs of participants.

School teams are encouraged to participate; however, individuals may also attend. This learning opportunity is beneficial for School Administrators, Equity Coordinators and School Equity Teams, Teacher Leaders and Classroom Teachers. ISEA members’ registration fee and License Renewal credit fee (if enrolled in Part 1 & 2) will be provided at no cost through sponsorship from the NEA Great Public Schools Grant. SAI will provide LR credit for administrators. Non-ISEA member teachers should register through SAI.

Part 2: Continuing the Journey of Leading for Equity

This class will advance the concepts introduced and developed in Part 1: Building Capacity to Lead for Equity 2021. However, Part 1 is not a prerequisite for Part 2. The scenario and practiced-based approach will again take participants through iterative cycles of learning, practice, application, reflection, and feedback. Facilitators will solicit feedback and input from registrants to help shape the content and direction for the course.

Facilitators: Circe Stumbo and WestWindEd Policy Colleagues

License renewal credit: Participants are eligible for 1 license renewal credit through their respective organizations (ISEA/SAI). **Participants must attend all six sessions (Part 1 & Part 2) to earn a credit.**
